Recently AI art has been a hot topic, and i also notice that the corresponding tag has collected hundreds of uplloads.Due to the AI art's low cost but high yield character, and blurry details,I'm afraid we need to set some standards to limit unproper or irrrational uploads of AI art. What's your opinon? 不太行

Personally, I don't find anything wrong with it. Such art has a right to exist. But it is unlikely that it will ever become so famous that it will be shown in galleries. It's all possible, though.

I've been told that AI doesn't create super unique art. In that sense that he takes bits and pieces of details from other arts and paintings and creates his own. I don't think this is ok. And my illustrator friend said that she was told at work not to use AI and create everything on her own. Because their content must be unique. I think AI is a great tool, but I hope it will never replace humans in creating truly unique content. As a super helper -ok, but not as a 100% creator

Same could be said for computer generated art.. asin.. art create on a computer.. AI is a tool, not a destination.. without the human message to drive the creative process, AI just generates meaningless images.. which is fine, but it's not art.

    I agree

AI art is absolute trash, and should be illegal. It's taking legitimately decent artwork from many artists and using it as a template to generate subpar TRASH. And I don't care if AI is in neverending state of progression, it's still not only theft of people's intellectual property, but a slap in the face to the real artist who put so much time and effort into perfecting his craft.

Hottake. Ai generated art can and sometime is amazing so its impossible to not like it in a way as in theory it could take whatever you do like and improve it. Like cooking. Yes a dish can be good and then add extra spice.

Current issue I find is that either the people who use ai tools dont look at the results before posting. Search stable diffusion or ai art and then look at the teeth on people, or their pupils just look missplaced or an extra hand/finger or whatever random things its weird as hell at times.

Because to be honest I care for few things, but whatever it is. It should be better if it could be. Improvement is always to strive for.

I love AI Art. And I will continue to upload AI Art. I tag my uploads AI Art. I go out of my way to make sure my uploads of AI Art wallpapers and pictures are of nice looking quality. I like uploading dark AI, misplaced pupils and and xtra fingers are the bees knees and make things scarier in my opinion.

BELLEDEESSE's uploads are the perfect example of why AI art should be heavily moderated or outright banned, if you look at their uploads:

    • Every image is uploaded 3 to 5 times with very little variation.
    • Every image is 1080p at best, when most non-ai uploads are ~4k nowdays.
    • Every image is filled with bad ai artifacts.
    • All of them have less than 1k views, clearly showing that no one wants to view them.
    • They have uploaded 100 images in a week, and they all look the same.

The problem with AI generated images filling this site, is that you can't tell by the thumbnail that it's filled with ai artifacts. It's only when you click on each one, do you see if they've gone through the trouble of upscaling and retouching the image.

If you're not upscaling and retouching your ai images (like Alx), then it has no value and shouldn't be on this site. Ai uploaders are producing 10x the amount of content of a regular user, but gettting 10% of the views.

Until AI art is removed from subscriptions, I think you should only be able to upload 1 ai image a week, and only if its been upscaling and retouched.

Sidenote, I don't think ai art should be using the illustration, digital-art, and digital-painting tags as all these tags mean human-made, as it's not an aesthetic, it's a way of creating art.

I think Alx's uploads are trash. You can still see they're bad from the thumbnails and they're still godawful if you look at them for longer than five seconds. His spam routinely shows up in my subscriptions despite having blocked him and the ai art tags explicitly in my profile.

I am obeying all the rules of this site. As I said, I like AI art, and it is allowed here. If the AI art tag is not being blocked properly, please bring this to the attention of the admins. I upload Ai art that pleases me, I am not concerned about views. This may sound selfish on my part, but I am not breaking any of this sites rules. What is nice about Wallhaven for me is that everyone can freely express their opinions here. I value everyone's opinion. But I am also allowed to have my own opinion as long as I am following Wallhavens rules. In the event that Wallhaven changed their rules about uploading AI art, I wouldn't be upset and would adjust my future uploading methods accordingly. Have a nice time!. :) P.S. I agree with you about the Digital Art tag and will not be using it anymore.

I understand that AI generated images aren't for everyone. The more vocal haters go on the forums to complain. There's also a lot of people who like the AI generated images and don't mind the quirks. The number of subscribers to my uploads and the number of likes on the images I upload indicate this. Lovers and haters - Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I agree the the tag AI art, is unfortunate. I am not not claiming AI generated images are art in the proper sense.

This is not ArtHaven - This is WallHaven. The stuff I upload is intended to be used as wallpapers not as art. If you want art on your monitor, I'm sure there are better sites and if you want to truly support artists you should buy their works. I would never upload "AI-art" to ArtStation or DeviantArt.

Regarding the "theft of people's intellectual property": How many of you ask the artists and photographers for permission before you upload their creations to wallheaven? Some might upload original content that they made themselves but they are likely in a minority.

EDIT: Corrected factual error. Thank you to ForestMimic

There's something so delightful about the AI spammers not even knowing the name of the site they're on. It's no wonder that they can't notice how bad their images are- they don't even notice basic information about the world around them.
