How do you like AI art?

Recently AI art has been a hot topic, and i also notice that the corresponding tag has collected hundreds of uplloads.Due to the AI art's low cost but high yield character, and blurry details,I'm afraid we need to set some standards to limit unproper or irrrational uploads of AI art. What's your opinon?

As mentioned in this thread it is part of the system now. Wallhaven already has tools and standards for what is improper or irrational as those terms apply to more than just AI images. If you feel like particular image is low quality, report it. You don't like AI art in general, blacklist the tag.

I've uploaded a bunch of AI images myself and I do like them in general. I admit that many of them are mediocre, but compare that to the massive amount of wallpapers that were favorited zero times. I'd say they are at least as bad as the worst AI images on the site.

AI art is low cost, true, but so is downloading an image from another site and uploading it here. Wallhaven could of course totally ban AI generated wallpapers but I doubt it is necessary.

sorry, maybe I didn't make myself clear,I like nice pictures no matter how it was generated,i just found some of AI arts poor in details and they might look cool in the first few times, but aesthetic fatigue comes soon as well,I am just not familiar with it yet,but your nice uploads are good examples to rid me of those worries,I have no intention of banning it at all.I feel that my rough idea made you annoyed, don't mind it.😊

Sorry if it came out this way, it wasn't my intention to attack you or anything. Also, thanks for complimenting my uploads. I do actually agree with you that many AI images look similar to each other especially when they are made with the same model. For example midjourney's painterly / impressionist style or novelAI's anime pictures.

While it is true that some of AI wallpapers look dull and very much alike each other, aesthetics are not a criteria for allowing wallpapers. More objective signs define poor quality, not a particular style.

I don't like AI Art on here and I wish I could specifically filter it out. I'd rather not see any of it than the 1 in 1000 chance of a good one

just go to https://wallhaven.cc/settings/browsing and add AI art to the tag blacklist box

It's also taking over the whole website. AI art is literally everywhere on here and particular users are jus tconstsntly uploading without hesitation. It's ruining the website imo.

I will be honest, the fact that the site didn't opening ban AI-Generated Art when it started to appear is the reason that this flood is happening. I am usually not a fan of the overt approach but I feel that this is one of those cased that warrants it because if given any traction... the site will be swamped. The thing that we should be wary of is the fact that users are not tagging properly, so some AI art will grain traction before it is corrected.

Thank you very much! I also dislike the Idea behind AI art a lot. Comes with so many legal issues. AI in general is just a huge big meme nonsense, overhyped crap meme, imo. No matter what kind of AI aka random math generator.

AI art is the new NFTs... it'll come and go, some people will run away a lot richer... and a lot of people will go out a lot poorer. And "fuck everyone else" i guess..

I got a tagging ban recently, because I kept removing stupid "AI art" tags. There's no such thing as AI. It's just a meaningless buzzword at this point. AI is an artificial being that is self aware and capable of abstract thinking. What "AI art" uploaders do has nothing to do with actual AI.

You're a moron and an asshole and you have no idea what "AI" means. What you're talking about is an AGI. Google it for once. You dick!

Not only are you wrong, but also you're too stupid to understand simple terms. Terms like AGI had to be created because people like you couldn't possibly comprehend that "computers doing stuff quickly" isn't AI. Term kept being incorrectly repeated by open-mouthed troglodytes and here were are - with a bunch of idiots claiming mindless theft is "AI Art". If you're doing this idiot trend, then you're just one of the lemmings that hear a buzzword, and follow the script kiddie path of stealing other people's work, feeding it mindlessly to a machine learning solution that someone else created, and then calling it a word your tiny brain cannot understand. Go f yourself. You're one "literally" away from being completely braindead.

Regarding the popularity: As long the users of this site mark the images as favorites, we can assume they are popular. Regarding the "flooding": There is a cap on how much you can upload in one go. I assume the admins can add a cap on daily uploads if needed. Otherwise, the more content the better for the users. Regarding the quality: Yes, it's not perfect, by it's getting better all the time.

You forget the most important thing: The damn tagging!

I agree! I fully respect people who dislike and don't want to see AI art. The blacklisting of tags is a great feature.

AI tag Blacklisting DOES NOT WORK

I've seen dozens AI uploaders not respecting the tag system and people who want to filter those pictures out of their feed are powerless.

Everyone says blacklisting a tag is the way to go but the site does not enforce tag abusing or lying with tags. the system won't work if there is no rule for false tagging.

Also you might not know why I wouldn't want to see AI art, it's a personal preference. I for example don't want to see furry porn whenever I google pictures of real life animals in google. Either this gets fixed or this becomes an echo chamber for AI uploaders

I have noticed that myself, and have built a steady set of tags to blacklist.
