How to upload high quality version of a low quality upload?

An upload of mine was deleted for being low quality. I'd like to upload a higher quality version of it but the system is blocking the upload. I've tried different file names and uploading png instead of jpg but no luck.

"One of your uploads has been deleted: zy5ldy Reason: Low quality (visible pixels on dark parts) Contact a staff member immediately if you believe this is an error."

Why is the upload being blocked? Is it detecting it as a duplicate?

The reason given is "already deleted due to low quality"

KuriosDrachen if new image is different quality, then perhaps the site's algorithm does not compare hashes from images, or it calculates the hash in its own way. I can only guess. In this case, try reducing dimensions by a couple of pixels.
