Got a notification that one of my uploads has been merged, but it's not telling me what image it was merged with. It just says that it has been merged with it self.

Yeah, uhm, looks like that is exactly what happened. Someone merged it into itself.

I assume someone had reported it as a duplicate but provided the wrong ID. Or the mod just accidentally copy-pasted the wrong ID. Either way this obviously something we should prevent from happening, so it's a bug.

I've restored the wallpaper for now. There are a couple of duplicates in different resolutions, so it probably won't stay around forever.
