What makes a duplicate?

Sometimes a higher resolution version of a wallpaper that already exists on this site is uploaded. When I see duplicates, I usually report the lower resolution one, even if it was uploaded before.

Sometimes I report duplicates and they get cleared, even if they are clearly duplicates, and I have no idea why.

So, should I report the newer wallpaper or the lower resolution wallpaper?

It depends. Walls are moderated on a case by case basis. Sometimes the lower resolution is the true resolution when you look at the source. Other times the high resolution may look like an upscale (artifacts and blurriness). In some cases we honestly can't find the source and both walls may look alright so we may leave them both.

Hm... yes, I noticed that too. I'll try to figure it out myself before reporting. Yes, sometimes artists post their work on different platforms and they vary in resolution and/or quality.
