The Alpha is Ending Soon™

[I do prefer the simple numeric system we have now though, is there any reason why alphanumeric instead?]
I need to deter shitty people from scrapping the site and wasting resources. This will make it a bit harder, and push them towards the upcoming API.

It can be a + if instead of "id:****" (when I search for a tag) will show the actually tag name
Yup! Much of the search will be improved.

will we be able to rename or create new accounts? I'm currently scraping and would generally be interested in api access
If you'd like your username changed, send me a PM.
I'll probably be opening up a test site for those who wish to get a jump on any apps or tools that will use the new API before we go live. Keep an eye on the Discord server and our twitter account for news.
18144 Good luck with the launch! Looking forward to it! :D
18145 wow!! the time has come!! i was wondering when this would happen!!! thank you for all your hard work!!
18147 It's finally happening! Thank you guys for your hard work, dedication and for keeping the wallbase spirit alive!
18151 Great work on the site so far - excited to see what the new changes might bring!
18154 Thanks for the hard work!
18157 Woo! Its actually happening!
18161 Yeah!!!
There will be new features?
18167 I will be patient andI want to say superb work and professional layout my friend. Thank you.
18169 18170 Thank you. Amazing wallpaper site is about to get even more amazing :)
18178 Hey, this is great news! I was starting to wonder if we would hit 1m uploads in alpha. Probably get there by Q2/Q3 2019.
Would it be possible for existing wallpapers that make it past clean up to be accessible via a legacy ID that uses the current numeric ID. Just for a short transition period(1-2 months). Or maybe a redirection system that detects the legacy ID and matches it to the new alphanumeric ID.
Not a really big deal for me, I just foresee a lot of forum posts going "Hey I can't find this wallpaper anymore!"
On the flip side, I'm not sure how much of our traffic comes from shared links. I never see any out in the wild like on reddit. I think I just shot myself in the foot. GG.
18179 Yeet!
I love the website, in terms of design, speed and ease of use, it's unmatched! (that I know of) Please keep up the good work. <3
Note: I just wished this website would be a template and used for other image-based purposes (booru, deviantart-like, etc..) because it just works so well for wallpapers, I don't see why it wouldn't for other things too.
18181 Wohooo! super duper happy to hear about that.
18182 How about a bit more tougher NSFW Rules? Do we need really any more spread legs, vagina, anal, and vulva pictures ?
On Wallbase there was a feature called "Wallbase live" where User could see any comments made by users to another. Also visible was when a wall was deleted, commented etc... Was kinda cool.
An own issue: I abandoned a LOT of Walls Is it, would it be possible to COMPLETELY re-abandon all Walls after going Live. Just curious...
18183 Aaawwww yiss !
Awesome work since the beginning, this website is (and will surely stay) my all-time favorite wallpaper source :) Keep it up and thanks again for all the love

I think I'd give a +1 to tougher NSFW rules. I really like NSFW wallpapers myself, but most of the stuff you mentioned I find it hard to see as a potential wallpaper.
Just please no extra comment sections. What we already have is enough. Comment sections are the cancer of the internet.
18193 This is awesome! I can't wait for the move and I hope everything goes flawlessly.

Also +1 from me on both points.
18198 Is there some documentation about the API somewhere already?
And about the NSFW, I see no point limiting them. Some of us like those as a wallpaper as well and it would be just annoying to find just another wallpaper page because of limitations. Maybe just better filter to hide those for them who don't like those.
18205 nice..
18209 time flies. wallhaven is five year old! Now she grows up!
18211 First I find out winamp is back, and now I find out 4walled is evolving yet again. I'm very happy to hear that, and I still use the original domain to get here. Will that still work, or will I need to commit to memory the correct name?
