He didn't not added his watermark. He indeed removed to original watermark which is (correct me if I'm wrong) tolerated while cropping to a standard resolution.

yup, what shadomare said is true. The user never added their own watermark, they just cropped it to a more usable resolution and it will probably be linked as an alternate size on the original upload.
