Some of my wallpapers have been marked and removed as duplicates of each other, example

1920 x 17304
and deleted [9d8l28] https://wallhaven.cc/w/9d8l28

1282 x 80014
and deleted [85dyko] https://wallhaven.cc/w/85dyko

I agree that these are parts of the same image, but they are different parts!

These wallpapers was reported but not deleted, and there are many similar wallpapers with different sizes, you can run the script through the site database and find images that are 95% similar.

In general, I thought that such wallpapers are allowed, otherwise I would not publish them!

Your deleted uploads were cropped from those remained. Different resolution could stay.

Your case is : 1. It is from same uploader
1. the crop is major (from landscape mode to portrait display mode) not minor with a few pixels crop And this is the main difference and the reason why they were deleted.

I think it would be useful to add this explanation as an item to the rules so that other uploaders can know in advance, because now there is nothing about cropping or duplicates in the rules, although all other items from the Report popup (LQ, copyright, illegal, etc) are in the rules and ToS.

But in this case it is impossible to get second wallpaper from one by just cropping a part, so I think they have similar central part but at least on the edges they are not duplicates? I marked the unique differences with red rectangles here: https://imgur.com/7KNxXf6

I think these two wallpapers would be useful for mobile and desktop users and removing one of them would be a loss...

No, they aren't duplicates. Each contains elements not visible in the other one.
