You don't exactly play wallhaven, but you search the site for wallpapers (you could make this into a game if you really wanted to, I guess)

You can select or deselect certain categories to change your search results or search using an image for similar images

General, Anime, People: The main tags for sorting wallpapers in. Anime is for all anime-related stuff, People is for wallpapers that include people in real life, and General is where everything else goes, from graphic design to just dogs and cats.
SFW, Sketchy, NSFW: Purity tags to measure whether the wallpaper is for all ages to 18+
Resolution: You can decide to check for wallpapers that are at least a certain resolution or one specific resolution (you can select only one resolution)
Ratio: Like resolution, but for specific ratios (you can select more than one ratio)
Color: Select a pre-determined color in hex (you can change the color selected in the link, however, by inputting in another hex value)
Relevance: Most relevant wallpapers, as the category implies (may not be relevant in some cases)
Random: Selects a random seed to get a highly variable set of wallpapers based on the categories you chose (warning: this may be addictive, and there is a reason why the sanity check exists to remind you to not scroll for too long)
Date Added: Displays wallpapers in chronological order, from either descending order (newest) to ascending order (oldest)
Views: Displays wallpapers in order from descending order (most viewed) to ascending order (least viewed)
Favorites: Displays wallpapers in order from descending order (most favorited) to ascending order (least favorited)
Toplists: Displays wallpapers from the toplist (has a lot of views and favorites) from yesterday to 1 year ago
Hot: Displays wallpapers that have received many views and favorites in a short amount of time

You can upload wallpapers, but make sure your wallpaper follows the rules and is not considered to have any issues regarding quality, purity, or copyright. There may be certain issues with a wallpaper though, so you might want to ask someone if a certain wallpaper would be appropriate for the site, or respectfully ask the mods what is wrong with the wallpaper if they decide to remove it from the website. Make sure to select the appropriate purity and tags that are applicable.

Those are the basic things you need to know, but you don't need to worry too much if you just want to download wallpapers. You can just look for and find what you like. That's about it for a beginner's guide.
