"The image cannot be displayed as it contains errors"

For some images I get just the background, when going for "show image", I just get the above error. It only seems to happen for high res images, 3840x2160 and above after the recent update, in Firefox (or Waterfox in my case). Works fine in Slimjet (Chromium based). NoScript is whitelisted, just as ublock. The browser has disk cache completely disabled, but enabling doesn't fix the problem. My connection is rock-solid, so that's also not the problem. It's not super-critical, but indeed an annoyance, so I'd appreciate any suggestions.
